Q My name is Edwin Saumet. I live in Colombia, South America. Over a year ago I started with the beautiful experience of having rats as pets, and now I’m raising albino hooded and in Colombia do not have many records as they got these rats to some breeders and makes. They are raising long time without bringing new blood into these.

I am interested in importing new varieties of its lines and I would like to get in touch and learn from you to form a club of breeders in Colombia.

I appreciate their support and collaboration to advise me on the import of more copies of their lines and improve the rats we have in Colombia.

A It depends on what you are looking for but you would need to contact someone that would be able to ship what you wanted (not all breeders will ship). Another option would be to travel to the breeder you wanted stock from and bring them in yourself. Another alternative would be to find someone that is coming from the U.S. to Colombia that could bring you rats if you can’t find a rat breeder that would be able to ship you what you are looking for. You will need to contact your country officials to see what the laws are regarding importing domestic pet rats before you contact breeders. Other ideas to get new blood would be to contact local laboratories to see if they sell stock.
