Q I just found a baby mouse, probably about a week old, eyes not open, ears pinned to head, fur
covering body. My kitties had it, can’t find a nest. I don’t have any formula or goat’s milk. Is there
anything I can give the lil’ one until morning?
A We have our Orphans page with info on various formulas
as well as the article Homemade Formula For Baby Mice.
Wildlife sites say to use
an electrolyte solution (Pedialyte) to get them re-hydrated when you
first find an orphan animal
before starting them on a milk formula.
Be careful handling it as wild rodents can have parasites or diseases that can be harmful to other pet rodents or to humans.
