An Australian stamp of the Stick Nest Rat. |
Q I don’t think that the USA has a species of rat on a stamp.
A No, not a realistic one like the one you show from Australia. The only rodents we know of were in 1996 when the USPS issued the “Year of the Rat” stamp as part of the Lunar New Year series, then in 1998 a hamster was part of the “Bright Eyes” set of five pets, and in 2011 Ratatouille was part of the five Pixar movie characters on “Send a Hello” stamps. Several other countries have had rats/mice featured on their postage stamps.
