My Gram isn’t always careful when feeding my rats. She can sometimes let
sneaky Val slip out if she’s quick. She’s always giving them sweets and losing my Val. Well, Val
was out playing after such an event and we had the electrician coming in to fix the ceiling fan’s light.
It’s right over the rats’ playtable and doll house. Apparently (I was out), Val leapt onto his shoulders
while he was on the ladder! She wouldn’t be set down and he didn’t know where to put her (as I’ve
had boys before) and not knowing her name—tags didn’t help—he had no idea what cages were empty.
So he kept her on his shoulder helping
and when he saw Gram on his way out, he presented Val holding the bill in
her mouth. I guess he became fond of her and spent some time teaching her to hold the paper!
